Christian music does not have to be in the genre of praise and worship. The majority of twenty one pilots songs are Christian themed: written to or about God and/or Christian faith.Almost every song from No Phun Intended is Christian in theme, I'm not even going to name them all because the list is so extensive and the references are so blatant as Tyler explicitly refers to Jesus and Lord. Although maybe not as explicit in twenty one pilots songs, the theme is still there.Tyler refers to God as 'Father' in Addict With A Pen,'Someone Holy' in Doubt, 'The one I love' in Polarizeand 'The Judge.' Not to mention countless references to the vague 'You' (God) in Holding Onto You, Screen, Trees, Implicit Demand for Proof, Taxi Cab, Be Concerned, Not Today and Goner to name a few. Some songs, although not written TO God have religious references.
Twenty One Pilots consists of two dudes, Tyler Joseph who sings and plays the piano, bass and ukulele, and Josh Dun who is the drummer (and trumpet player). From the course of listening to Twenty One Pilots, from their album 'Vessel' with the electronic pumped up beat, the last thing I would have guessed is.
Ode to Sleep mentions Peter's denial of Christ and also an admission of guilt when Tyler says: 'I'm afraid to tell you who I adore, won't tell you who I'm singing towards.'
